My friend and I were sitting upon the Barbary Coast shuttle bus (Flamingo Blvd.) awaiting its departure to return us to the parking lot at the Gold Coast...when we witnessed a multi-vehicle accident right before us.
A small 4-wheel drive pickup was traveling east bound on Flamingo and apparently did not see the stopped autos attempting to turn into the Barbary Coast's parking garage...
...in an effort to avoid slamming into back of the stopped cars, the pickup driver jumped the median into the west bound traffic...however, his effort was for not, as his truck's back-side hit the last car inline slamming it into the one stopped ahead of it.
The two stopped autos had women drivers...while the driver of the vehicle, which was first hit appeared shaken remaining in her vehicle, the driver she slammed into attempted to exit her vehicle only to fall and collapsing upon the median.
The pickup truck driver, a dressed-up young male exited his truck and began making calls on his cell phone, while the young woman passenger in a fine looking dress, exiting upon the street visibly shaken and in pain.
The traffic conditions, particularly on the weekends near the strip in Las Vegas are extremely dangerous. As such, I highly recommend those visiting this area to AVOID driving, (take a cab, shuttle, monorail, limo, etc.) while ALWAYS wearing a SEATBELT if riding or driving.
It appeared all participants were wearing seatbelts during this accident, which obviously minimized their resulting injuries.
Great concert, just did NOT need to witness this…perhaps it was a message with a reminder to be shared.
Thus, with regret, I post here.
Be SAFE, not sorry…one only has to be in the wrong place at the right time to be involved in something, which could alter the remainder of the life…if it doesn’t take it away.
